Today we had the opportunity to honor the memory of the heroes of the 112th Territorial Defense Brigade of the Kyiv city and to open a monument commemorating their heroic deed. Thanks to their courage, we continue to live under the Ukrainian flag. They were the first to stand in the way of the invaders going to the city, and we have no right to forget that.
In the first terrible days of the war and a feeling of complete uncertainty, people, without waiting for orders or help from anyone, stood up for the defense of their native land themselves. Both the Territorial Defense Brigades and the volunteers organized themselves. Territorial Defense Brigades, demonstrating real miracles of courage, beat the enemy on the way to Kyiv. Almost without weapons. We (volunteers) helped with food, clothes, sleeping bags, etc., inspired only by the belief in victory. By the way, then victory seemed almost impossible. On the one hand, military protection, on the other – civilian. This is an incredible example of self-unification and courageous struggle of the Ukrainian people against the occupiers, relying only on their own motivation and opportunities. Unity and self-organization are the only things that helped Ukraine survive in 2014 and 2022 in the face of a large-scale invasion. That is why we are very grateful for the opportunity to participate in such an event, to honor the memory of the defenders of the 112th Territorial Defense Brigade of the Kyiv city and thank them for our Kyiv, our values, our children, homes and the yellow-blue flag over the city. In addition to commemorating fallen heroes with a monument, we must do everything to ensure that as many heroes as possible return home alive. We must make sure that this huge sacrifice does not become useless: work, help, donate, care and change the country, starting with ourselves and our surroundings. To take an example from their self-organization and national consciousness. This is exactly what we have to do in the name of our heroes. Glory to Ukraine!
