“Yellow-and-Blue Butterflies” is an international initiative aimed at drawing the world’s attention to the tragedy of Ukrainian children who have been forcibly taken and abducted by the Russian authorities during the war.
The symbol of the project is a butterfly, representing childhood, fragility, and at the same time the strength of hope. Each butterfly is a voice of support. Each word is a step toward bringing them home.
People in Ukraine and around the world write short messages to Ukrainian children on yellow and blue pieces of paper. These papers are folded into butterflies — symbols of freedom, childhood, hope, and the journey back home.
The butterflies are collected in special boxes and later given to children who have already returned home, as well as kept for those who are still to return.
We thank you for joining our initiative.
We invite you to support the fundraising effort to create child-friendly spaces in hospitals located in front-line territories.
